Kenneth FitzGerald is an educator, designer, artist and writer. He’s author of Volume: Writings on Graphic Design, Music, Art, and Culture and had his writing and design work published internationally in a wide range of journals, magazines, books, and blogs. The News of the Whirled, his novel in the form of 4-issue limited-edition magazine, received awards for excellence from the American Center for Design and AIGA, and is in the collection of Goldstein Museum of Design at the University of Minnesota. His artwork has been exhibited in a number of venues nationally, is in a variety of private and corporate collections, and has artist books included in the Franklin Furnace/Museum of Modern Art/Artists Books collection. He served on the Steering Committee of the AIGA Design Educators Community, and is on the founding Editorial Board of Dialectic, the DEC's academic journal. He erratically maintains his blog Ephemeral States at www.ephemeralstates.com, and posts art and design work at ephemeralstates.tumblr.com.
