Curt Lund (M.F.A., University of Minnesota) is an educator, designer, curator, writer/performer, and mixed media artist -- all pursuits that embody his love for storytelling and for connecting words, images and objects in nerdy and unexpected ways. He is an Assistant Professor of Digital Media Arts, with a focus on graphic design. Curt's research interests revolve around design history and material culture; the act of collecting; printmaking and book arts; representations of the LGBTQ community in advertising and media; and the redefinition of the design artifact in the digital age. His professional background includes tenures as marketing and design manager at Minnesota Center for Book Arts; tour guide / museum educator at the Walker Art Center; and guest curator for the Goldstein Museum of Design in St. Paul. Curt has served as juror for numerous awards, exhibitions and festivals, and his own work has been featured in exhibitions across the U.S. and abroad, including the University of the West of England (Bristol, UK), Plains Arts Museum (ND), University of Tennessee at Knoxville, Manifest Gallery (OH), Marin Society of Artists (CA), University of South Dakota, Abecedarian Gallery (CO), and numerous venues in and around the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and Saint Paul, MN.
