
Annabelle Gould is a Professor of Visual Communication Design in the Division of Design at the University of Washington. She teaches typography as a primary means of communication and creative expression. She was a member of the AIGA Design Education Community Steering Committee from 2012–2018 and she served as the DEC Co-Chair from 2015–2017. Annabelle has also taught at Art Center College of Design and Otis College of Art and Design. She has spoken at numerous AIGA design education conferences. Originally from North Carolina, She received a Bachelor of Environmental Design degree from North Carolina State University and an MFA in 2D from Cranbrook Academy of Art. Annabelle is also a practicing designer (www.agould.com) specializing in editorial design and typography. Her client list includes Chronicle Books, the University of Washington, the Traver Gallery, UW Press, Lead Pencil Studio, and ARCADE magazine. Her work has been recognized in AIGA’s 50 Books/50 Covers, and by TDC, the Society of Publication Designers, the University College Design Association, and Print magazine. Annabelle is the creator and designer of the Design Teaching Resource.
